    “Preparing Today’s High School Students for Tomorrow’s Opportunities” states:

For every one hundred ninth graders:

• 68 graduate from high school in four years
• 40 enroll immediately in college
• 27 are still enrolled in their sophomore year
• 18 graduate from two-year colleges within three years or four-year colleges within six years

~ American Community Survey, Buffalo, NY, 2006 & U.S. Census Bureau states:

In 2006:

• 78% of people 25 years and over had a least graduated from high school
• 20% had a bachelor’s degree or higher 
• 22% were dropouts; they were not enrolled in school and had not graduated from high school.

~ Strong American Schools & ED in ‘08 Facts:

  “US ranked 19th in graduation rate ~ America’s high school graduation rate ranks 19th in the world.  (Forty years ago, we were first.)

~ 1 out of 30 kids actually knows what they want to do after graduating from college.

~ 1 out of 50 understands the skills that employers require in today’s job market.
